The Fund Managers, Asian Bankers and Brokers Awards (FABBAs) is a charity fundraiser that has been a premier event in the Asian financial sector’s social calendar since 2003.
The FABBAs is a time when most of the region’s major international financial institutions join together to give back to their local communities. The FABBAs were founded by Asia Brokers Charity, a small group of industry professionals who recognized that, beyond the ups and downs of their companies and careers, many people struggle in much more difficult situations, lacking resources and choices. Asia Brokers Charity has lead their industry for over 18 years supporting a wide variety of amazing causes that transform the lives of disadvantaged people around Asia and beyond.
Events Man was instrumental in the design, management and production of the event from 2005 till 2015. During that time we helped raise almost HK100m for a wide variety of lesser known charities.
FABBAs lives on however along with changes in the finance industry, it is now a much smaller format. So far, FABBAs has redistributed over Hk$100M. This money has helped educate children in Laos, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Philippines and China. It has sent containers of supplies to refugees in Syria. It has dug wells supplying drinking water to remote villages. It has provided care for aids patients. It has paid for much needed operations. It has changed countless lives for the better.
As the producer we were honored to have the opportunity to create an event that can change so many lives in one night. We realize that events like these raise just a drop in the ocean for what is needed, if all events had such altruism at their heart the world would be in a better place.
Through small events like this we change the world.
